Obituary of Paul Jay Davis

Paul Davis was born February 16, 1935. He was the fifth of six children born to the late Jeff Davis and Rosalee Jordan Davis in Mineral Springs, Arkansas. He had four brothers, Samuel, Miles, Joseph and Jessie and one sister, Curlie. He graduated from Howard County High School in Mineral Springs in 1954. Paul completed his college education at AM&N College (now University of Arkansas in Pine Bluff) earning a B.S. Degree in Industrial Education (Electrical) in 1958. At an early age he became a member of the Bethel AME Church in Mineral Springs. Paul married his high school sweetheart Minnie Ann Dixon in 1958 in Mineral Springs. Paul spent two years in the United States Army prior to moving to Denver, Colorado in 1960. To this union three children were born, Michael, Perry and Roslin. Roslin Davis Gray preceded Paul in death. Paul was a Master Electrician and enjoyed maintaining his rental properties here in Denver with the assistance of his older brother, Joseph. He loved his family and was a great father and encouraged his children to perform at their highest ability level at all times. He enjoyed collecting artifacts, classic cars and a wide variety of rare items. Paul Davis was a true entrepreneur and a business owner. He employed his son, Michael and a successful team to manage and maintain the up keep of his many businesses. There were many traits and legacies passed down, not only to his family but to those who loved him most. We will remember Paul as a leader in his community and he will forever be remembered as a diligent and tenacious individual but most importantly, a tremendous father and family man. Paul Davis passed from this life into eternal rest on January 9, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Roslin D. Gray; and brothers, Samuel and Joseph. He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Michael (June) Davis of Denver; daughter, Perry Davis of Long Beach, CA; sister, Curlie Mae (CleArthur) Mangram of Pueblo, CO; brothers, Miles Davis of Fountain, CO and Jessie (Bobbie) Davis of Mineral Springs, AR; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; the mother of his children, Minnie Ann; loving sweetheart, Kelly Hynes and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
