Ernestine Futrell aka Fat aka Mommie aka Ernie was born May 18, 1943 to the union of Ernest J. Woods (deceased) and Gradie J. Woods in Ladonia , Texas. She was the second oldest of four children- Wayne Woods(Joyce), Barbara Brown and Betty Brown (deceased). She leaves behind five children to cherish and celebrate her life- Sonja Revis, Victor Farmer, Keith Adams (Tracy), Tyrone Adams (Stacey) and Tyson Adams (Tracy), plus her dear nephews- Darnell Brown (Theresa) and Jay Woods and nieces Sharles Woods (deceased), Sylvia Green (deceased),Sherry Woods and Yauncee Brown, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins and friends! She loved her family and friends! She married twice- first to Donald R. Adams (deceased) and then later to Bobby G. Futrell (deceased). A member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church she loved the Lord and recited Psalm: 91 daily to cover all of her family, friends and the challenges she faced. She credits her strength and ability to overcome all the mountains in her life to God. "I can do all things through Christ that strength name."She last worked at the Denver Water Department for over 20 years and previous to that King Soopers for many years and previous to that for the Denver Public Schools. In her free time she loved listening to the Blues; BB King, Bobby Blue Bland,Son House, How lin' Wolf and Elmore James to name a few. She also loved to go to Lincoln City in Oregon and Black Hawk in Colorado to play the slot machines.Other times it was reading her bible, watching crime shows (many times she would take joy in solving the crime before the show ended) and play her video games on her computer. Her favorite phrases were "child.....please", "you have to learn to forgive" and "always love one another." Ernestine was very caring and giving to everyone she met. However she didn't mind telling you when you made a bad choice and would just tell you like it is. Those who know her know what we mean! Her most lasting impact to her family was she taught us to see people not color, always help others and be good. So when you remember Ernestine, remember her affectionate smile and laugh and the joy that she brought to your life!
Rest in peace Ernestine
