Obituary of Leroy Huntington
Please share a memory of Leroy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mr. Leroy Huntington, Jr. on May 19, 1966 in Denver, Colorado when he was born to Leroy Huntington, Sr. and Maryann Bailey. The oldest of four children, he had two brothers, Marvin and Mickey and one sister, Marsha. As a child, he loved to fish, camp, play basketball and ride go-carts. Educated in the public school system, he attended both Adams High School and East High School in Denver. A man of faith, Leroy was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church for twenty years. His profession was Journeyman in the field of construction. He was known for his "work hard, play hard" philosophy. In his free time, he enjoyed family (in particular his nieces, Monique, Monica, Brittney and Briaunna and nephews, Mark Anthony and Dominique, and great niece and nephews, Dominique, Jr, Samaya and Zane), friends, eating soul food, dancing and listening to music. His many friends always loved listening to his joyful laughter. His favorite colors were grey and maroon. His favorite recording artists were the Isley Brothers, Tupac and Luther Vandross. He was often heard to say, "Got to get my chips." Leroy enjoyed being with his grandfather, Roy Huntington, Sr. He especially loved to ride in his grandfather's Peterbuilt Dump Truck. He loved to eat soul food at his "Madea's" house (Christine Long) and having a good cocktail with his Papa (Robert Long). His grandmother, "Madea" stated that Leroy was not only her grandson, he was her best friend. His love and joy in life will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have shared a part of Leroy's life. To know him was to love him. The sun set on the life of Mr. Leroy Huntington, Jr. on April 7, 2014 when the Lord called him home to eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his father, Leroy Huntington, Sr; adopted parents, Roy Huntington, Sr. and Rosemary. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Maryann Orr of Westminister, CO; brothers, Marvin (Rachel) Crawford of Thornton, CO and Mickey Crawford of Denver, CO; sister, Marsha Huntington-Pryer of Commerce City, CO; grandparents, Robert and Christine Long of Denver, CO; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
