Obituary of Claudine Rosborough

Claudine Rosborough, 83, of Denver, Colorado, passed away May 27, 2014 in the comfort of her own home. She was born in Marshall, Texas to Cora Davis-Smith and Richard Rosborough in late December of 1930. She received her formal education from Marshall Junior High School in 1944 with the permission to pass to secondary education, and matriculated through high school traveling with her mother throughout Texas, Washington, and Arizona. As a child she was always the twinkle of her mother Cora'seye, and right by her side. Though she was the only child, her first cousins took the roles of siblings and they were just that close. Collectively, bouncing from house to house throughout their foundation of Texas, and some cousins even traveled with Claudine and Cora settling in Colorado. Cora, Ethel, Wyoming and other brothers and sisters raised their children as a village. Claudine carried on that nurturing legacy, 'mothering' many of her cousin's and friend's children as she never biologically birthed any children of her own. Claudine was a woman of strong work ethic having served the State of Colorado for 30 plus years at the Wheat Ridge Regional Center as she so warmly referred to as 'Ridge'. She furthered her career of human service care as a home health care provider with Argus of Colorado in 1998. As a lifelong learner, she completed Widening Our World Training for Seniors in 2007, and loved to participate in the knowing of historical facts, current events, and trivia. She also loved gardening and sewing. Though she enjoyed all of those hobbies, her real true love was traveling. Claudine was a well-versed, national and international traveler whose excursions included Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, returning home to Texas frequently and coast-to-coast travel. She loved cruises! She a member of Union Baptist Church.Claudine was formally married twice in this life. First to Mr. Smitty Watson of Texas and second to Mr. Robert Reese of Arkansas. She had many close friends that she loved and built lifelong relationships with, but the nearest and dearest was Mr. Roy Lee Bell. To tell a love story unparalleled. Over 40 years of friendship that manifested between the two as life companions until the end. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her strong will and determination; sense of humor and raw expression; but most of all her caring heart and wealth of knowledge. A true socialite in her own Right! She is proceeded in death her loving mother, Cora Davis-Smith and aunt, Ethel Davis; life companion Roy L. Bell; and devoted cousin,Gary Smith. She is survived by dedicated goddaughter, Phillis (Isaiah) Lockett-Arthur of Denver, CO; god granddaughter, Shania "Sha-Sha"Williams of Houston, TX; and Mark A. Hopkins-Lockett of Oxford, NJ; devoted cousins, Ricky (Jennifer) Smith and family of Denver CO; Terry (Doreen) Smith of Denver, CO; Dewayne Smith of Denver, CO; Sherry Davis- Green (Clarence and Chelsea) and a host of family and friends in Dallas, TX; along with a plethora of loved ones within the family that she created and all that loved her dearly .
