Obituary of Margaret Clements

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Margaret Lorraine Clements on July 2, 1926 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma when she was born to James G. and Annie M. Reid. The fifth of six children, Margaret had one brother, Matthew "Bus" and four sisters, Novella, Della, Ernestine and Jennie. As a child, she always wanted to learn to cook. Living on a farm, she raised chickens and enjoyed playing with her dolls. Margaret was educated in the public school system, and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Pawhuska. She continued her education at Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma where she won the State Oratorical Contest sponsored by the American Legion. Margaret was united in marriage with Charles Proctor in Denver, Colorado. To this union were born four children, Cleatus "Clay", Elaine, Dwight and Charles "Mike". After the dissolution of her first marriage, Margaret was united in marriage with Ellis A. Clements. To this union were born two children, Ellen and Daisy. Margaret was blessed with grandchildren, Robin, Daphne, LaDashia, Xavier, Alysia, Shawn, Jamaul, Ashton, Andrea, Josiah and Aveaha. They called her "Grammy" and loved her dearly. A woman of faith, Margaret was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Denver for over 50 years. She worked as a Choir Director/Musician and was employed with Granberry Mortuary as a singer for ten years. She spent most of her adult life taking care of her family and home. Margaret enjoyed time with her family and friends, cooking, listening to music (gospel was her favorite) and playing the piano. She loved family gatherings and celebrations. Words or phrases that come to mind when we think of Margaret are "the Queen", awesome, outgoing, perfectionist, supportive, a true servant of God, sports fan, assertive and generous. Her love, beautiful smile and grace will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved Margaret. The sun set on the earthly life of Mrs. Margaret Lorraine Clements on May 28, 2014 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Ellis A. Clements of Denver, CO; sons, Charles Proctor of Houston, TX and Dwight D. Proctor of Denver, CO; daughters, Cleatus A. Ewing, Elaine M. Proctor, Ellen A. (Kenneth) Crawford and Daisy J. Clements, all of Denver, CO; five grandchildren; seven great grand- children; four great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Rest in peace...Mrs. Margaret
