Obituary of Roslyn Diana O'Neal

Please share a memory of Roslyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Roslyn Diana O'Neal on August 24, 1963 in Denver, Colorado when she was born to Elbert "Big Al" and Johnnie Pearl Richardson. She was the 4th child out of 6 children on her mother's side and 8th child out of 19 on her father's side. As a child she was very smart, sweet, kind and outgoing. She loved to get dressed up and wouldn't leave the house without her purse and her hair done. She loved having a bag of goodies to carry with her too. Educated in the public school system, Roslyn graduated from East High School in Denver. Her first husband's name was Michael O'neal who proceeded her in death. They met in Colorado and got married in Denver. Michael O'Neal, II was born to this union. She later had her daughter, Nichole Shider- McNett with Harry Shider and her youngest son, Matthew McDonald with Ernie McDonald. Her children remember, "Our mother was very dedicated to the livelihood of her children. She always made sure she had everything we needed and wanted and then some. She did everything to make sure her children were set up for success and ultimately happy. She also made sure God was the foundation of our family." Her grandchildren; Deondre, Julian, Narissa and Au'set called her Grandma and they loved being spoiled by her. She was a member of an in home fellowship of Christian ministries for over 25 years. By profession a team leader, Roslyn worked at Target for 18 years. "She was a mother to everyone. She always had a smile on her face and knew exactly what to do or say to put a smile on theirs." In her free time she loved reading and listening to the Word, watching movies, listening to music, shopping, and talking on the phone. Roslyn had many people she would call her best friends and they all know who they are. Roslyn lived the rest of her days surrounded by those who loved her; children, parents, siblings, friends, and co-workers. God gave her the strength and energy to fulfill her last wish to see her daughter get married and she was glowing. To know her was to love her and she will be dearly missed. The sun set on the life of Mrs. Roslyn Diana O'Neal on May 30, 2014 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Michael O'Neal of Denver, CO and Matthew McDonald of Aurora, CO; daughter, Nichole J.
