Obituary of Shalonda Marie Wilson

The sun rose on the life of Ms. Shalonda Marie Wilson on March 26, 1979 in Denver, Colorado when she was born to Robert R. Green, III and Sharee Ann Wilson. The youngest of four children, Shalonda had two brothers, Kevin and Robert, IV and one sister, Krystal. A happy child, she was always loving, talkative and very smart. She was very close to her brother, Kevin until they were separated and Shalonda went to live with Mother Dear in Louisville, Kentucky. She later lived with Grandma Johnnie in Denver and then Aunt Margaret in San Francisco, California. Educated in the public school system, she attended Hinkley High School and William Smith High School. She continued her education at Royal Beauty Career School in Houston, Texas. Shalonda was the mother of a magnificient son, De'Ontre from a relationship with Ronnie Lawrence, Jr. in Denver. She was also the loving mother of a beautiful daughter, A'lijia from a relationship with Alonzo Bush, also in Denver. She was devoted to her children. They remember, "Mommy was trying to be better for us." Additionally, she was blessed with one grandson, De'Ontre, Jr. A woman of faith, Shalonda was a member of The Potter's House in Denver. By profession she was a hairstylist employed with Creative Hair Designs. She was known for being fun loving, caring and a great colleague to work with. In her free time, Shalonda enjoyed family, friends, having fun, laughing, writing poetry and rapping. Her best friends were Vaille Price and Quashawne Perkins. Her favorite colors were pink and black and she most enjoyed R&B and rap music. She was determined to be a better person with every day that went by. She was often heard to say, "Allow myself to heal and erase the confusion and disgust." Her brother, Kevin remember, "My sister made it very clear how much she loved me. She never wanted me to see her down, so she distanced herself." Shalonda was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. The sun set on the life of Ms. Shalonda Marie Wilson on June 5, 2014 when she passed into eternal rest. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, De'Ontre M. Lawrence, Sr. of Wichita, KS; daughter, A'lijia KeVaughn Bush; father, Robert "Rocky" Green, III of Aurora, CO; mother, Sharee Wilson of Denver, CO; grandmother, Mary "Johnnie" Bohannon of Aurora, CO; grandson, De'Ontre Lawrence, Jr. of Wichita, KS; brothers, Kevin (Tracey) Wilson, Robert Green, IV, Carl Wilson, Vernell Wilson and JoeJoe Valuenzua, all of Denver, CO; sisters, Krystal Green of Aurora, CO, Renee Nolan, Katrina Hayes, Cynthia Wilson, all of Denver, CO, Jeanine, Dena, Darlecia, all of CA and Stephanie Salman of NY; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
