Obituary of Ola Mae Williams
Please share a memory of Ola to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Ms. Ola Mae Williams on December 13, 1956 in Hayti, Missouri when she was born to Lee Grady Williams and Enda Lee Clark Williams. The eighth of thirteen children Ola had eight brothers, Lee Jr., Charles, Larry, Henry, Tommy Joe, Robert, Terry Lee and James and four sisters, Mary, Erina, Susie and Rose. An athletic child, she was always a star runner and liked playing softball and catching crawfish. "She loved being with her daddy." Ola received her formal education in the public school system and finished at Emily Griffith Opportunity School in Denver, Colorado. Ola was the loving mother of two beautiful daughters, Monique and Rhonda. Her grandchildren, Misheal, Jadakizz, Asariah, Mariah and Hannah and great grandchild, Koiab added great joy and pride to her life. She adored them all. A woman of faith, Ola was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Christ Jesus for 23 years. She served the Lord and her church as a minister, Food Bank Director and with the Benevolence Committee. "She wanted everyone to get saved and follow Christ. She made sure that any conversation would end in what the Lord would want you to do." Professionally, she was a licensed Dietician employed with the Denver Public School System at Morey Middle School. She was known for dedication and hard work. In her free time, Ola enjoyed family, friends and riding her bicycle. Her best friends, Charlene Benford and Dana O'Neal will always remember "She loved to go shopping." Her favorite expression was, "Get out of my house and go home." Her favorite color was red and she always listened to gospel music. Her love, faith, sense of humor, and willingness to help others will be deeply missed. To know Ms. Ola was to love her. The sun set on the life of Ms. Ola Mae Williams on June 13, 2014 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Monique Williams of Aurora, CO and Rhonda (Travis) Moore of Denver, CO; brothers, Larry (Debbie Norris) Williams of Denver, CO, Charles Williams of Hayti, MO, Terry Williams of Leavenworth, KS, James (Carol) Williams of Denver, CO, Robert Williams of CA, Lee Grady of Denver, CO, Tommy Joe Williams of Hayti, MO and Henry (Ausula) Williams of Leavenworth, KS; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends,
