Obituary of Michael Richards

The sun rose on the life of Mr. Michael Richards on October 20, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio when he was born to Robert L. Richards, Sr. and JoeAnn Smith. Michael had five brothers, Robert, Corey, Stevie, Kevin and Rodney and five sisters, Michelle (his twin), Jacquese, Nicole, Athena and Sandra. As a child, he always tried to help take care of his family by collecting soda bottles around the neighborhood and turning them in at the store for money. "Michael was always a hustler to take care of his brothers and sisters." Educated in the public school system, Michael graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Cleveland. He continued his education at Cuyhaga Community College in Cleveland. On June 26, 1982, Michael was united in holy matrimony with Regina Diane Boone at Union Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado. She remembers, "It was love at first sight. Mike was my soulmate sent by God. We had 33 years of Friday night and Saturday night dates. He was a great and amazing man who loved me unconditionally until his departure on June 28, 2014." To this union were born two children, Michael II and Dominique. A man of faith, Michael was a member of St. Pius Tenth Catholic Church in Denver for 28+ years. He served the Lord and his church as Communion Minister, Usher, in the Marriage Ministry and in the St. Vincent Fraternal Order of the Knights of Columbus. An entrepreneur by profession (and nature) Michael co-owned Regina's Services, a very successful business for 29 years. He was a hard worker who loved working and always looked for new opportunities. In his free time, he enjoyed being with his wife, family and friends. His best friend was Leon Reed from Cleveland, OH who always admired Michael's loyalty, hard work and love for his family. Michael was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. The sun set on the life of Mr. Michael Richards on June 28, 2014 when the Lord called him home to eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted wife, Regina Richards; son Michael Richards, II, both of Aurora, CO; daughter, Dominique J. Richards of Brooklyn, NY; brothers, Robert Richards, Jr. of Denver, CO, Corey (Cynthia) Smith, Stevie (Melody) Smith and Kevin (Pam) Smith, all of Cleveland, OH and Rodney Smith of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Jacquese (Lewis) Satchell, Athena (Thomas) Hill, both of Denver, CO, Michelle Minor, Nicole Richards, both of Aurora, CO and Sandra Smith of Rochester, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
