Obituary of Larry Donnell Morehead

The sun rose on the life of Mr. Larry Donnell Morehead, Jr. "Scooter" on August 9, 1981 in Indianola, Mississippi when he was born to Larry D. Morehead, Sr. and Hyonsun Hamole. The oldest of two children, Larry had one brother, Larry. As a child, he was always rapping, singing, playing outside and putting things together. Larry spent his formative years in Sunflower, MS where he enjoyed spending time with his brother, cousins and neighborhood friends. Educated in the public school system, he continued his education at Pickens Technical College in Aurora, Colorado where he was an honor student in Machining. On August 14, 2010, Larry was united in marriage with Osha Bland at the Hudson Gardens in Littleton, CO. Larry and Osha fell in love quickly. They enjoyed many good times, had many “firsts” together and remained great friends. “Their bond was forever.” No children were born to this union. Larry was the loving father of eight children; Meqkylih, Wisdom, Tashyra, (twins) Jadan and Jonte, Kamora, Isis and Kendra. He loved them all. A Machinist by profession, Larry was employed with MDM Machining. “He was one of their top workers. He received a raise and a bonus after working there for only one month!” Larry enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends, playing chess, painting, graphic design and studying. His best friend, Lorenzo R. Stewart loved Larry for being a strong, happy person who was always nice to others. Words that come to mind about Larry are kind, loving, outgoing, intelligent, respectful, strong, charming, charismatic and lovable. In his final months, Larry desired to start an organization for youth and spent time teaching children to play chess. “He loved his family and children dearly and made peace with everyone before his final day.” He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. The sun set on the life of Mr. Larry Donnell Morehead, Jr. on July 10, 2014 when he passed into eternal rest. Those left to cherish his memory include his twin sons, Jadan and Jonte Johnson of Littleton, CO; daughters, Isis Morehead of Denver, CO, Meqkylih Smith of CA, Wisdom Jones, Kamora Morehead, Kendra Morehead, all of Aurora, CO and Tashyra Morehead of Houston, TX; father, Larry Morehead, Sr. of Sunflower, MS; mother, Hyonsun (Ali) Hamole of Aurora, CO; brother, Larry J. Morehead of Sunflower, MS; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Rest in peace “Scooter”
