Obituary of Theresia O. Alexander

The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Theresia O. Alexander on January 12, 1935 when she was born to the union of Porter Lee and Gladys Boykins. The second of nine children, Theresia had five brothers, Calvin, Floyd, Lloyd, Cleveland and Curtis and three sisters, Lillie Mae, Roxie and Fern. As a child, she was always very lovable. Educated in the public school system, she graduated from high school in Meeker, Oklahoma. Theresia was first united in marriage with Benjamin Cudjo, Sr. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. To this union born nine children, Clyde, Benjamin, Dell, Willard, Gladys, Gretta, Latricia, Valerie and Detemetice. She was a loving and devoted mother. The marriage was later dissolved. In February, 1986, Teresia was united in marriage with Robert Alexander. No children were born to this union. A woman of deep faith in the Lord, Theresia was a member of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado for over seventeen years. By profession a Nurse's Aide and Cafeteria Worker, she was last employed with the Denver Public School District at Steck Elementary where she worked in the cafeteria. She was employed the longest with Rocky Mountain. She was known for hard work and dedication to her job. In her free time, Theresia enjoyed family, friends, listening to Gospel music, playing bingo, durning and puzzle books. A naturally outgoing and lovable person, she had many friends. Her family is very grateful to all of them. She loved everyone she knew and was especially devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. "She loved her family and the Lord." To know her was to love her and she will be greatly missed. The sun set on the life of Mrs. Theresia O. Alexander on August 5, 2014 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her parents, five siblings and daughter, Valerie. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Clyde Lee of Oklahoma City, OK, Benjamin (Emma) Cudjo, Dell (Arlene) Cudjo and Willard Cudjo, all of Denver, CO; daughters, Gladys Watkins of Aurora, CO, Gretta Adams of Denver, CO, Latricia (Paul) Stevens of Oklahoma City, OK and Detemetice; brothers, Calvin Lee of Denver, CO and Curtis Lee of Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Fern Whibbey of Oklahoma City, OK; 22 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
