Cynthia Johnson was my best friend for as long as I can remember. In our youth we lived on Kearney Street, across from Hallett Elementary School for most of our lives. Our fathers were both in the Air Force (at Lowry), and we both had moments when we were sent to other places before returning to Denver. The last time I saw Cynthia was five years ago, when I was visiting Denver (from Las Vegas). I brought my then 4 month old grandson for her to meet, but when I went to her house, it was abandoned! I was in shock! I always visited Cynthia during the summer, when I visited my mom at the Veteran's home at Fitzsimmons. At that point, I lost contact with her, and couldn't find out where she had gone. I'm especially sad that I didn't get to say goodbye to my longtime best friend. Cynthia was the most beautiful, personable and funny person I've had the privilege of knowing. God bless her and watch over her. See you soon, girl.
