The sun rose on the life of Mr. Loren Edward Bell on May 4, 1947 in St. Joseph, Missouri when he was born to Louis and Beulah Bell. The youngest of three children, he had two sisters, Diantha and Mabel. As a child, he was always playing music. "Loren loved the bands. In fact, he played with the high school varsity band when he was only a freshman." He also learned to drive heavy equipment at the tender age of thirteen. Educated in the public school system, he graduated from Manuel High School in Kansas City, MO. He continued his education at trade school where he became a master welder. A Vietnam Veteran, Loren proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was stationed in Vietman and St. Croix, Virgin Islands. His final rank was E-3/PFC. Having completed his active duty with honor and distinction, Loren was given an honorable discharge by the government and a grateful nation. Loren was united in marriage with Nevel Markies. To this union was born one beautiful daughter, Karen. He was a loving husband and devoted father. A welder by profession, he was employed with the City of San Francisco. He had previously orked at A.O. Steel. He was known for hard work, dependability and excellence in his trade. In his free time, Loren enjoyed family, friends, shooting pool and talking to his friends. "He used to live tall."
