Obituary of Albert Robinson
Please share a memory of Albert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Albert Robinson Jr was born January 17, 1927 in Ninety Six, South Carolina. He is the fifth child of Albert Robinson Sr (deceased) and Addie Hill Robinson (deceased). He was educated in South Carolina, and graduated from South Carolina State University, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He moved to Colorado in 1957 to work for the Federal Bureau of Reclamation. He was raised Christian at Mount Olivet Baptist Church and remained a member. He was a honest, strong man and hard worker. He loved to garden, hunt and fish. The last fourteen years he has had dementia and Alzheimer's, but he always woke up with a smile. He was a great husband, father and grandfather. We loved him dearly in sickness and health and he will be truly missed. His father was an avid farmer so at a young age Albert was out on the cotton farm with his family. Albert brought his green thumb to Colorado with him. As many people admired his beautiful garden, he was provided the opportunity to visit various houses and grace their landscaping with his touch. Albert wanted his grandchildren to have the hard worker mentality. Every year he had all of them help with the garden. They picked, washed, and chopped many crops. He was very stern and strict but loving and inspiring, always speaking the truth and providing wisdom to everyone. He valued education, and stressed its importance to his grandchildren, encouraging them to take advantage of all opportunities. On October 8, 2014, Albert's work on this earth was complete when the Lord called him home where he joined his parents, Albert and Addie Robinson; brothers, Scott, Kenneth and Lorenzo; sisters, Mildred and Leila and a host of friends and relatives. To embrace the warmth of his memory, he leaves his wife of 63 years, Clara B. Robinson; daughters; Adelina P . Nicholas, Yolanda Gail Robinson, Squalls (Samuel), and Novia F. Joyce (Rudolph Fields); son, Albert Robinson III; sisters, Ida B. Harper and Lottie B. Parker; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, sisters-in- law, Johnnie Ruth Forrest and Jonell Johnson; brothers-in-law, Charles Johnson and Tracey Parker, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
