Obituary of Chief Warrant Officer Raymond Nathan Jackson

Please share a memory of Chief to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Monday October 13, 2014, God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth called Raymond Nathan Jackson home. He was born to W. Allen Jackson and Ida Marie Thompson Jackson on May 2, 1963 in Dugway, Utah and was raised in Detroit, Michigan until the family relocated to Denver, Colorado in 1978 where he graduated from Montbello High School in 1981. Raymond enlisted in the United States Navy in August, 1983 and honorably served his country for 23 years retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer. Some of his awards and decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with 3 gold Stars), Navy Good Conduct Medal (with 3 gold stars) and various campaign medals. He was also authorized to wear the Surface Warfare Officer and Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist badges. Raymond attended several US Navy schools and also received his Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Management from DeVry University in Westminster, Colorado. Education was very important to him and he was pursuing a Masters of Business Administration degree before he became ill. After he retired from the Navy, he was an entrepreneur with his Dad, W. Allen Jackson and brother, Allen Wendell Jackson, owning and operating their trucking company called Jackson Transportation LLC. He was also a Fleet Representative for General Services Administration in Honolulu, Hawaii managing the use of several thousand government vehicles. Family life was very important to Raymond and he married Dahlia Japtap on June 14, 1991 and they had two children, son, Raymond Japtap Jackson, a manager for Nordstrom Department Stores and daughter, Desiree Marie Jackson, who is expecting a daughter (Catalina Ray) in February, 2015. Raymond loved living in Hawaii where he enjoyed the weather and lifestyle, relaxing with his friends and being a master at barbecuing all types of meats. We were very blessed to have Raymond for 51 years and we will always remember his wonderful spirit and great sense of humor. We now say to him rest in peace and give thanks to our lord for the time we shared with him. Besides his two children, Raymond is survived by his mother, Ida Marie Stowers; father, W. Allen Jackson; former wife, Dahlia Jackson; brothers, Allen Jackson and Lenton Lamar; sisters, Belinda Marie Jackson and Michelle Watson; stepfather, George Stowers; sister in law, Zenatta Jackson; nephew, Andre Jackson; niece, Ashley Jackson; great nephew, Tayvion Jackson and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
