Please share a memory of Barbara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season A time to be born: On a windy night in Hillsboro, Texas on September 13, 1930, Tyree and Sara Oliver welcomed their first born into the world and named her Barbara Jean Oliver A time to plant: Barbara planted through out her life, seeds to live and grow by such as love and kindness. She was humble and full of forgiveness. A time to weep: Yes our faces are wet and stained with tears, but God promised us strength for the day and his power would sustain. A time to build up: She worshiped under the leadership of Bishop Charles Jackson until her health begin to fail. She was a very faithful member. She built up her knowledge of the bible by reading every morning before she started her day A time to love: Her love for Jesus Christ came first, then as she would put it, "my three sons" Kenneth, Ronnie and Ricky. She loved and talked about her grandchildren, Remika and Ricky, Jr. Barbara always had lots of love for her nieces and nephews, she also loved candy, brownies, honey buns, ensure and her red lipstick. A time to work: Barbara worked for over twenty years with the Denver Public Schools. Her most famous quote: "I been cooking and cleaning since I was eight years old". A time to die: On a rainy Sunday, October 12, 2014 around 7pm, God picked our most oldest and most beautiful and precious flower from our family garden to come and be at rest. You are as good as goodness is; your acts and words were always kind. We love you and you will always be in our hearts. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Kenneth and Ronnie McQueen, both of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Remika and Ricky, Jr.; great grandchild, Maurice, all of Denver, CO; sister Sara (Glen) Hudspeth of Denver, CO;nephews Lynn, Jerry, Star, Byron and Tony; nieces Elizabeth, Marsharike, Dedratha, Tammara, Sherry, Deneen, Dara and Shelly; longtime friend Mae Helen of Dallas,TX; and a host of great and great great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
