Obituary of Vickie Lynette Combs-Pollock

The sun rose on the life of Vickie Lynette Combs on October 11, 1968 in Los Angeles, California when she was born the oldest child of Jimmy Lee Combs and Mary Francis Joseph. She had one brother, Charles. As a child, Vickie was always telling on her cousins. She was a Grandma's girl. She was a member of the El Segundo Elite Drill Team. Educated in the public school system, Vickie graduated from Aurora Central High School in Aurora, Colorado. On March 3, 2014, she was united in marriage with Robert Pollock at the courthouse in Aurora, CO. He remembers when they looked into each other's eyes and recited their vows. He will miss coming home to her hug and kiss no matter what time he came in. Vickie was the loving and devoted mother of two children, Tamara and Bryant. Tamara stated that her mother was her backbone. "She was there when I had my child and has been there ever since." Bryant remembers, "Mother was my best friend and we went through alot of hard times together." Her grandchildren, Aalayah and Tatiana remember "Grandma" watching TV with them, going to the park and to the zoo. Vickie was primarily a homemaker, taking care of her home and family. At one time she worked at Carl's Jr. where she was known as a hard worker, outgoing and crazy. She most enjoyed time with family and friends, getting dolled up, getting her hair and nails done and shopping. Her best friends were Kim Woods in CA and Loraine Bessard in Denver. Her love, care for family, activities with them and her beautiful smile will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have shared a part of this lovely lady's life. To know Vickie was to love her. The sun set on the life of Mrs. Vickie Lynette Combs-Pollock on November 1, 2014 when she passed from this life into eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Lee Combs; grandparents, Alma and Monroe Joseph, Willie Bell King and Leonard Combs. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert Pollock; children, Tamara Nelson and Bryant Nelson; mother, Mary Joseph, all of Aurora, CO; brother, Charles Taylor of Denver, CO; siblings, Arthur, Chandra, Michelle, Daishelle and Jimmy Combs, II and Cayana Webb, all of CA; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
