Oh,what fond memories we have of Mrs.Ruth Lucas. Yes, it does take a village to raise a child...and Mrs. Lucas indeed assisted with raising several individuals from the Eastside Community. We spent countless hours with Mrs. Lucas at the Red Shield Recreation Center after school and during the summer months. She was our mother away from home..."The Community Whipper" teaching us respect, discipline, and self-control. Therefore, we salute you with honor for being that mother, teacher, coach, and friend.
