Obituary of Donna Marie McCloney

The sun rose on the life of Ms. Donna Marie McCloney on July 7, 1963 in Denver, Colorado when she was born to Charles Harris, Sr. and Emma Perron. The third of four children in the family, she had one brother, Charles and two sisters, Machelle and Qaedah. An easy going child, she was always compassionate and loving to everyone and everything. Donna loved to cook. Her favorite was sloppy joes and spaghetti. She loved to play jokes on her siblings. Educated in the public school system, Donna graduated from high school in Douglas, Oklahoma. She continued her education and earned Certification in Dental Assistance and Early Childhood Education. In 1980, Donna was united in marriage with James Edward McCloney, her high school sweetheart. To this union were born three beautiful children, Jamie, James and Destiney. The marriage was later dissolved. Donna was a devoted and loving mother. In later years, her grandchildren, Ryan, Kailoni and Nasira was a special joy in her life. They remember, "The wonderful time we spent together with Grandma this past summer. She was funny and great to be around. She loved all types of music." A woman of faith, Donna was a member of Christ Missionary Baptist Church. She was also an active member of IFAA (International Fighting Arts Association). A professional childcare provider, she was employed the longest with Kenneth Copeland Ministries in Prairie View, Texas. She was known for dedication and loved by all. In her free time, Donna enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends and listening to music. Her best friend, Rafael Alvarez loved her for being a good person and "always being a sweetheart". Her favorite colors were red and yellow, she liked roses and most enjoyed Oldies but Goodies music. One of her most used expressions, when you said something she didn't believe was, "You made that up". Donna's giving heart, love, joy in life and kindness will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to share her life. To know her was to love her. The sun set on the life of Ms. Donna Marie McCloney on December 28, 2014 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her father and sister, Machelle. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, James McCloney, Jr. of Denver, CO; daughters, Jamie McCloney of Englewood, CO and Destiney (Anthony) Coleman of Denver, CO; mother, Emma (Russell) Perron of Choctaw, OK; brother, Charles (Clara) Harris, Jr. of Aurora, CO; sister, Qaedah Perron of Denver, CO; step-sisters, Vermal Paige of Aurora, CO and Lorease Jamison of Seattle, WA; devoted companion, Rafael Alvarez of Denver, CO; three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
