Obituary of Larue Hanna Thomas

Please share a memory of Larue to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mrs. LaRue Hanna Thomas on January 14, 1942 in Sharon Springs, Kansas when she was born to Harry and Mildred Porter. LaRue was born into a family of twenty-three children. The family relocated to Denver, Colorado in 1958 so that Mr. Porter could go to work for the railroads. Educated in the public school system, LaRue graduated from Manual High School in 1960. LaRue was first united with Booker Davis. To this union were born four children, Theotis, Ivette, Tyrone and Rochelle. In 1971, LaRue met the man of her dreams, Ivy Thomas. The couple united in marriage on June 1, 1984. She was a loving mother and devoted wife. In later years, her fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren added much joy to her life. LaRue worked for the State of Colorado for twenty years and Denver Inter-national Airport for twenty-seven years. She retired from both jobs in 1992. She was known for hard work and dedication. Her supervisors and co-workers loved her. In her free time, LaRue enjoyed sharing quality time with family and friends, cooking spaghetti, eating sweets and watching television. Her family was very important to her. Her love, caring and beautiful smile will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have shared a part of this lovely lady's life. To know her was to love her. The sun set on the life of Mrs. LaRue Hanna Thomas on January 7, 2015 when she passed from this life into eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her parents and twenty siblings. Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Ivy Thomas of Denver, CO; sons, Theotis Davis (Kelly Mitchell) of Aurora, CO, Tyrone Davis (Suzette Sanchez) of Brighton, CO and Byron Thomas of Denver, CO; daughters, Rochelle Davis of Denver, CO, Ivette Davis of Aurora, CO and Evelyn Thomas of CA; sisters, Joyce Mason of Las Vegas, NV and Birdie (Fred) Long of Dayton, OH; fourteen grand-children; fifteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
