Obituary of Lillian Taylor
Please share a memory of Lillian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lillian Taylor "Babs" was an only child born to Flora Mallory on December 15, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was educated in the public school system of Birmingham. She was the captain of the cheerleading squad, and was a member of the dance team. She loved all sports, but her favorite was baseball. She was united in marriage to WWII Veteran, George F. Taylor "Bubba"; her best friend's brother, in Birmingham on May 28, 1946. Because of her husband's love for Colorado, Lillian and George moved to Lincoln Hills, Colorado in 1949. They were married for 52 years. From this union seven children were born, Kelsey, Athena, Shelia, Lorelei, Sandra, Franklin and Yldra. She loved shopping, traveling, cooking and playing cards. Family gatherings were a time when she and Frances "Po- Gal" would teach the younger generation the latest dances. Lillian and Frances did a "mean" jitterbug. We laughed for hours! Lillian worked numerous positions at Rose Medical Center and retired after 20 years of service. In the early eighties, Lillian returned to the church and remained devoted. At the time of her death she was a faithful member of Joy Tabernacle Holiness Church. She will be remembered for her smile, generosity and love of family. She kept a positive outlook on life, and most importantly provided a loving safe haven. She was most proud of her beloved children and their many accomplishments. Mom was called home on March 22, 2015. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Kelsey Robinson, Athena (Al) Eisenman, Shelia (Chris) Juniel, Lorelei Taylor, Sandra (Christopher) Burdick all of Colorado and Franklin Taylor of Anthem, AZ, grandchildren: Aaron Eisenman, Ricole Juniel, Geoffrey Juniel, Adrianne Eisenman, Justin Taylor, Janna Taylor- Rayford, Deven Taylor, Derek Taylor; loving cousins, Lela Mae Posey of Chicago, IL, Lula Bell Jones of Harpersville, AL, James 0. Baker and Eddie Jones, both of Colorado; seven great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Taylor; mother, Flora Simmons; daughter, Yldra Taylor; grandson, Christopher Juniel; best friend and sister-in-law, Frances Baker, sister-in-law, Marion Jones and first cousin and best friend, James Jennings.
Rest in peace...Mrs. Lillian
