The sun rose on the life of Mr. John Edgar Huebner, TSgt., USAF, Ret. on September 25, 1946 in Evansville, Indiana when he was born to Kenneth A. Huebner and Dolly Fanny Maybelle. The fourth of seven children, he had four brothers, Jim, Kenny, Mike and Herbie and two sisters, Mary and LaDonna. As a child, he was always spoiled. "His mom always said he was perfect." He loved spending weekends with his Grandpa Otto and Grandma Mary Huebner at their home. Educated in the public school system, John graduated from Francisco High School in Francisco, Indiana. A Vietnam Veteran, John proudly served his country in the United States Air force from August 1964 until retirement in August 1984. He served at Thule, Greenland, Newfoundland, Vietnam, Thailand, Germany and Japan. His final rank was TSgt. Having completed his active duty with high honor and distinction, John was retired with an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force and a grateful nation. John was first united in marriage with Mary Edmundson in Sebeka, Minnesota. The couple traveled to many places and lived in both Japan and Germany while in the military. To this union were born two children, Tammi and Jennifer. The marriage was later dissolved. On July 14, 2001, John was united in marriage with Tina Helm in Boise, Idaho. The couple enjoyed traveling, gambling on riverboats, and many happy times. He was a loving husband and devoted father. His children remember fishing and bowling. "He taught us about nature: birds, stars and plants. He wanted to be a forest ranger." His grandchildren, Nicholas, Garrett, Kaylee, Lacie, Maurice, Anthony, Kaylynn, Kiki, Russell, Jalen, Anisah, Kristell and Juanita loved visiting "Grandpa" for the summer in Indiana and fishing. After retiring from the military, John was employed as a security guard with Hospital Shares. In his free time, he enjoyed family, friends, bowling, metal detecting and most of all, fishing. John also had many dear and close friends. His love, thoughtfulness and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved this special man. To know John was to love him.
