As a Inherited Grandmother, Damon was always trying to get me healthy. He loved my cooking and baking but he was always on a mission to get me to lose weight and exercise.
One day I noticed him the backyard doing something. I didn't pay much attention but he kept leaving and coming back. Finally I called him into the house to ask him what he was doing. He gave me that Damon smile and said "I have a surprise for you".
A couple of days later Damon ran into the house saying "come outside, your surprise is ready" I gingerly ran outside and found my old adult tricycle totally rebuilt. He was so proud. He explained how he had been doing odd jobs to replace the wheels and chain and how he had went to the bike depot to get help redoing the gears. He had washed and polised the whole thing. He looked at my face for approval and of course I jumped with joy grinning from ear to ear. My little secret was it took me almost a year of breaking parts and removing things so I would have a excuse not to ride it.
Well there was no way out of the situation at hand, so I got on the bike and started peddling down the street with Damon running at my side cheering me on. Well being the half blind Granny that I am I ran into the neighbors parked car. (the neighbor was outside and thought it was more than funny). That saved me and I didn't have to ride anymore. Damon was so proud he had done this good deed for me. And I really really appreciated it.

The last day of my brothers life we all sat around reminiscing about the past. Damon told stories all the many animals that we had growing up and how many of them did not make it. Damon always loved hits didn't matter what kind or where they came from, he would find a stray anything (other than cats as I was allergic) and bring them home. Momma would generally make him return them, but there were a few she allowed him to keep. His heart was always big and he was responsible enough to take care of them. However they would generally be "freed" or unfortunately die due to the care me and my little sister gave them.
Damon had a giant heart, full of love and if you had breath he would try to find a way for you to live peacefully.
Brother, I love you and your memory will live on forever.

Damon was a free spirited man, always pleasant to be around, he will be missed. Gone too soon, but will never be forgotten. I pray that god gives his family strength, comfort, and peace. May you rest in peace Damon.
