The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Betty Lue Allum on February 9, 1951 in Marktree, Arkansas when she was born to Cornelius Jackson and Sally Jackson. The youngest of seven children, she had one brother, Cornelius and five sisters, Virgie, Willa, Irma, Barbara and Daima. Educated in the public school system, she graduated from North High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1978, Betty was united in marriage with Charles Allum, Jr. whom she met in Minneapolis. The couple exchanged their vows in Las Vegas, Nevada. To this union was born one son, Clayton. Additionally, Betty was the loving mother of her first born daughter, Sabrina. Her two grandchildren, Quanesha and Quashawna lovingly called her "Betty" and her great granddaughter, Novella added much joy and pride to her life. Betty enjoyed time with family and friends, shopping and playing bingo. Her best friend (as a young adult) was Vicky Brown. All of her friends always appreciated her great sense of humor. Betty loved tie dye outfits, creating quotes and she was a collector of all things. "She was tough. She had alot of wisdom." Her love, laughter and enjoyment of life will be deeply missed by all who shared a part of Betty's life. To know her was to love her. The sun set on the life of Mrs. Betty Lue Allum on May 19, 2015 when she passed into eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her husband, son, parents, and sister, Willa.
