Please share a memory of Carriestine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carriestine Marshbank was born on August 10, 1945 in Hollygrove, Arkansas. Born to the union of the late Oscar Lee Marshbank,Sr. and Tostine Marshbank, Carriestine was the oldest of thirteen children born to this family. As a child she was always happy, active, and had many friends. In 1950 the family moved to Denver, Colorado. She received her education in the Denver Public School System, where she attended Elbert, Whittier, Cole Jr. High and graduated from Holly Grove High School in Hollygrove, AR. While attending school she was involved in many class activities. In the year of 1959 Carriestine married the late Andrew Davidson Sr. To this union three precious children were born; Raymond, Laura Ann and Andrew, Jr. She was a very devoted, loving and caring mother. In 1996, Carriestine met and fell in love with John Wallace Carter. They were married on December 30, 1999. They were happily married for 16 years. In later years her grandchildren gave her the name "Gin~Gin". They were a special source of pride and joy in her life. In her early years she was employed at Children's Hospital, where she retired. Later on she was employed at Stapleton, and DIA Airport and Davis, Graham, & Stubbs Law Firm. In her free time she enjoyed crusin' around town, listening to her R&B music, but her favorite was sharing quality time with family and friends for whom she had a deep abiding love. Carriestine was known as "Bootsie". She was a fun loving, outstanding and caring person, but most of all Very Outgoing! Everyone just fell in love with her and had the upmost respect for her. If you were fortunate to meet and know her, you would know that you didn't meet a stranger. Whenever you saw Bootise you would see that beautiful smile that would light up any room. She was always accessible. No favor was too big, no request was too small and sometimes she would just surprise you. There are so many memories of Bootise that words cannot describe, she brought an enormous amount of joy, laughter, unselfishness, compassion and enrichment to everyone. Her love and kindness will be deeply missed. The sun set on the life of Boostie on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Tostine Mashbank, son, Raymond, brothers, Lathan, Elester, Lavon and Melvin; and sisters, Gail and Diane.
