The sun rose on the life of Ms. Bernice Maxwell on January 11, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee when she was born to James E. and Eddie Mae Maxwell. She had five brothers, John, Ralph, James, Harold and Darold and seven sisters, Bertha Lee, Annette, Jeanette, Betty, Opal, Jacqueline and Caroline. Educated in the public school system, Bernice graduated from Melrose High School in Memphis, Class of 1972. She later continued her education where she earned a Business Management certificate. Bernice was the loving mother of two sons, Marvin and Brian. Bernice worked for Sears and Roebuck Company and later transferred over to the clock towers. Both companies were located in Memphis. She later moved to Denver, Colorado from Memphis. Denver became her home for the past 30+ years. Bernice was a very happy, quiet and private person who truly loved God. She was a member of the New Shiloh Baptist Church back in Memphis. In her free time she enjoyed cooking, sewing and walking. Bernice loved spending time with her children and other family members. To know this lady was to truly love her, and she will be deeply missed. The sun set on the life of Ms. Bernice Maxwell on March 4, 2016 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest. Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; John, Ralph, James, Harold and Darold Maxwell. Those left to cherish her memories include her sons; Marvin and Brian Maxwell both of Denver, CO; sisters; Bertha Lee Maxwell of Henderson, TN; Annette Maxwell of Dallas, TX; Jeanette Maxwell, Betty Maxwell- Outley, Opal Jean Maxwell, Caroline Maxwell, all of Denver, CO and Jacqueline Jones of Aurora, CO; aunt; Bertha Lee Hines of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
