Please share a memory of Sandra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Ms. Sandra Yvonne Williams on November 11, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri when she was born to Charles and Louise Williams. The fifth of seven children, Sandra had five brothers, James, Lamar, Charles, Kenneth, and Darrell and one sister, Sharon. A serious and responsible child, she was always like a "grown woman", earning her the nickname "Woman". She was constantly dancing. Educated in the public school system, Sandra graduated from Beaumont High School in St. Louis. Sandra was the proud and loving mother of six beautiful daughters, Tammie, Deatra, Twyana, Tayon, Janell, and Janice. A very protective mother, Sandra loved hard and was devoted to her girls. They remember, "Mom had a huge impact on who we are today." She instilled so much love between her girls, they are very close and loving to each other. In later years, her grandchildren, Anastashia, Henry, Darian, Aireona, Davion, Alvin, Danielle, Keijana, Jakhi and Ca'Mauri were a special source of joy and pride in her life. They lovingly called her "Momma" or "Gran-Gran" and remember "She was always so much fun to be around because she was like a big kid herself." She always made sure they had money, popsicles and just anything she thought they wanted or needed. A woman of faith, Sandra was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Christ Jesus in Denver, Colorado. She was employed with Denver Public Schools for over twenty years in the Environmental Department. She was known for being a hard worker who always "kept it real". In her free time, she enjoyed family, friends, dancing, cooking, shopping and being outdoors. Her best friends were Delores, Vern, Annette, Katie and Charlotte. Her honesty, sense of humor and beautiful smile will be deeply missed by all who knew this beautiful woman. To know Sandra was to love her. The sun set on the life of Ms. Sandra Yvonne Williams on April 15, 2016 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest.
