Obituary of Robert Ricky Peace

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
We gather to remember the life and celebrate the home going of a wonderful man, Mr. Robert "Ricky" Peace, III. Ricky deeply touched the lives of everyone around him and was always there to lend a helping hand or give a spiritually uplifting word of advice. Ricky's compassion and love for his fellow man allowed him to give everything he had to help anyone in need and never asked for anything in return. To some he would be called dad, grand dad, pawpaw, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. To know him was to love him and due to his kindhearted nature, you didn't have to be a relative to address him with terms of endearment because he made you feel just that comfortable. Whether you are family or a friend, celebrate his life here with us. The sun rose upon Robert on August 24, 1950. He was born to Robert Peace, Jr. and Pearlene Peace in Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his only sister, Thelma Robinette Johnson, whom he loved dearly. The two were raised in east Denver. As children they spent time traveling and visiting family and friends. Their brother and sister bond would last throughout adulthood. Robert was truly a family man that ensured his children spent time with the family elders and extended family. Sundays were reserved for family time and he would take his children to visit their grandparents, great uncles and aunties. During the summertime the family would make frequent trips to Colorado Springs so the familial bonds were strengthened. Ricky enjoyed taking his children, nieces and nephews fishing with their grandmother, Pearlene. At an early age Robert had a thirst for knowledge that led him to higher education. Early education was in the Denver Public School system, Manual High School and later college at Metropolitan State University and the Illif School of Theology. Robert held many positions throughout his working career. He settled in with RTD - Denver as a bus driver. His favorite route was the 15. Yes, he loved driving up and down Colfax celebrating the diversity of Denver and sometimes even picking up a familiar face. He always took the opportunity to pass on positive advice to the teenagers that rode the bus. Robert was a strong believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a student of the Bible and shared the gospel with deep insight to the word of the Lord. He was moved to obey Jesus's commission in Matthew 28:19-20 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." As God summoned Robert "Ricky" home on November 24th, 2016, he left to cherish his memory his children, Tracy (Leibert) Phillips of Westminster, CO, Robert (Anshanita) Peace IV, Thomas (Ersula) Peace, both of Denver, CO, Alexandra Nicole Peace of Sacramento, CA, Cordell Jones of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Shantell, Nathan, LaQuell, Jamil, Quavon, Asia, Robert, V and Paris; great grandchildren, LaQuell III, Mialoni and MiJae; devoted companion, Suzanne Rothrock and children, Tein Rothrock and Isaiah Rothrock; nieces and nephews, Charles (Jacqueline) Holland of San Antonio, TX, LaKeitha Johnson, Joseph Johnson Jr. and DeAndra Johnson, all of Denver, CO; and a host of cousins, other nieces, other nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives and friend
