Obituary of Eula Lee Criswell

The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Eula Lee Criswell on March 17, 1935 in Littlerock, Arkansas when she was born to Fred Criswell and Cleo Walker. Eula had two brothers, Wayman and Dennis and seven sisters, Bertha, Martha, Georgia, Denise, Gloria, Brenda and Linda. She received her formal education in the public school system and graduated from high school. She continued her education while attending one year of college. On October 3, 1956, Eula was united in marriage with Marion Clayton Marshall in Atchison, Kansas. To this union were born three children, Maryann, Karen and Tina. She was also the loving mother of Cynthia, Antoinette and Mark. Eula was a loving and devoted mother. Her grandchildren, Latoya, Travarris, Brandie, Portia, Mark, Tameka, Tre, Brian, Kenny Jr., Christopher, Ebonie, James, Steven and Gregory called her "Grandma" and she loved them dearly. She was additionally blessed with a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. A woman of faith, Eula was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado where the family had relocated. She was employed with Ann's Laundry in the position of a presser. She was known for being kind and always having nice words to say to all the employees. They enjoyed working with her. In her free time, Eula enjoyed family, friends, playing dominoes, cards, bingo and collecting recipes. Her best friends, Jackie Williams and Molly Oliver spent many happy hours cooking and making candy with Eula. Her favorite expression was, "Why can't we all get along?" She liked the color green, roses and most enjoyed Al Green's music. "She never met a stranger and was an absolute giver." Her love, kindness and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have shared a part of this lovely lady's life. To know Eula was to love her. The sun set on the life of Mrs. Eula Lee Criswell on June 17, 2014 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Dennis and sisters, Linda Banks and Brenda Banks. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Mark Marshall of Kansas City, KS; daughters, Tina Marshall, Antoinette Marshall, both of Aurora, CO, Mary Mickens of St. Louis, MO, Cynthia Bowser of Jefferson City, MO and Karen (Robert) Satterwhite of Nashville,TN; brother, Wayman Banks of Edgewater, CO; sisters, Georgia Robinson of MD, Bertha Washington of Kansas City, MO, Denise (Dennis) Ross of NM, Gloria (Reggie) Barber of Topeka, KS and Martha Thomas of MD; fourteen grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
